MORE DAYTIME GP & NURSE APPOINMENTS AS NEW SERVICE GOES LIVE
August 7, 2015
Following the success of the Core Hours service in the Central West cluster, Warrington Health Plus has rolled out this new and innovative service to the Central North cluster.
The second phase of the core hours appointments service, operating from Orford Jubilee Hub, makes more routine triage telephone calls and appointments available to patients on a Monday, Tuesday and Friday.
Steve Tilley, Project Manager says: “We’re really happy to be able to offer extra appointments to patients on top of the scheduled appointments that are already offered by patients' own GPs.
Steve added: "We’re working hard to roll out the Core Hours service to each cluster in phases so that Warrington residents have the greatest possible access to GP and nurse appointments.”
Gill Adamson, Practice Manager at Parkview says: “The Core Hours service will improve same-day access to GP appointments for those who need to see a GP a little quicker than their own GP can offer. We ask patients to remember that they cannot self-refer to this service, they must first call their own practice who will then refer them onto the Core Hours service is this is suitable for them.”
The Core Hours service is part of a wider project which aims to improve access to GP appointments. The first phase of this service began in Central West cluster in May 2015 and will continue to roll out in phases throughout the year.
