New appointments service goes live in Central West Cluster
May 5, 2015
A new service to improve access to GP appointments goes live today in the Central West Cluster. Patients who are registered with practices within the cluster will have access to often same day appointments with a GP or prescribing nurse on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays at Bath Street Health and Wellbeing Centre.
The new service is second phase of the Warrington Health Plus Extended Access project that aims to improve access to primary care appointments.
Appointments must be booked in advance through the patient's own GP practice and following triage patients can be offered an appointment with a GP or nurse who can prescribe medicines, often on the same day.
Commenting on the new service, Steve Tilley, Project Manager said "This is the first cluster to go live with the new service to provide extra appointments. Over the next few months, we will be developing similar services in each cluster in Warrington."
